Fall Color in Summer

Tank: F21
Denim: Madewell (old)
Scarf: Target
Flats: c/o MIA
Bag: ALDO (old)
Hat: Target

I have mentioned it before, but I am dying to wear Fall clothes. Sometimes I just cave in and wear pants and sweaters in the middle of summer, but when it's a 100 degrees out it can be a little rough.

Color is a great way to incorporate fall into your summer wardrobe. This season's big colors: Emerald, Orange, and Burgundy.  Get staple pieces that you can transition into both seasons, shoes, scarfs, accessories all work great. You won't be hot wearing burgundy shoes, like you would sporting a chunky sweater. These soft suede flats come in all fall's hot colors.

I have been on the hunt for a panama hat for some time. The one's at J. Crew are so cute but fit my head weird. I stumbled across these ones at Target last week. Love. Love. Great price too. They have them in white (one I'm wearing) and tan.

What's your favorite colors for fall?

When the weekend comes around I probably cycle through 2-3 outfits a day. Comfort in the day (usually a hat, maxi, or cut offs), and dressy at night (heels, patterned denim, jewelry, etc). It's funny, I get so frustrated with my daughter because she wants to change her shirt every 5 minutes (I swear she changes 6 times a day) and it dawned on me this weekend, I'm probably setting the bad example on that one! She's so funny, such a passion for fashion at such a young age. I love it.

Anywhoooo, Forever 21 has great affordable chambray basics. These shorts I got last year, but I have seen similar pieces recently. The more chambray the better. At least in my world.

I have been on the hunt for floral denim for awhile. Finally found an affordable pair. They are soooo soft on it feels like pajamas. Expect to see these a lot :)

Have a great day!

I was so excited when I stumbled upon this shirt! It was in a pile of clothes in the corner of the store (I think someone was hiding it). I love the size of the dots on this one. It will be such a great layering piece for fall too. If you haven't picked yourself up a polkadot collared shirt, you need to. Especially if it's chambray, its like a double plus. I got another cute one at Old Navy a couple weeks ago. It is more of a delicate dot, looks like the J. Crew one. Whatever you pick, this will be one of those basic layering pieces you will use 24-7.

Here are my favorite chambray polka dot shirts: J. Crew// Urban Outfitters// Old Navy

A couple weeks ago we shot our new look book. Here is the first look from the shoot.

These pants are a new favorite. I love the pattern! This weekend I was looking at J. Crew's new stuff and saw they are selling a similar design for $200+.  So crazy, H&M's look basically the same and they are only $17.95. Perfect for fall.

I love how the fuchsia necklace pulls the pops of color from the pants. Notice how they aren't the exact same shades? When your matching accessories, think of the monochromatic scale for one of the colors you are wearing and pull in one of those shades. Your accents don't have to be the exact same hues, it actually makes them pop more when they aren't :)

HAPPY MONDAY!

Change.

I semily cleaned out my closet this weekend and found all my colored denim that had been hiding under a pile of shirts I have been too busy/lazy to hang.
It's been nice to have the switch in color again from my basic denim.

I am 99% sure I am growing out my bangs, and 100% ready to go back to dark hair for fall. Just booked my hair appointment for the change. Soaking up the last week of the blonde and ombre.
So ready for fall!

insta.life. insta. ily. insta. goodies.

This week has been super busy [thus my lack of posts].

We have been completely redoing the website  and shooting our fall look book for ILY COUTURE. All the changes will be live end of next week [fingers crossed]. I always try to stay connected via Instagram [@ilycouture] if I don't have time to blog so you can get the skinny on what's going on there. Here are few sneak peaks from our shoot last week and other insta goodies.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Thanks so much for reading!

Messy Morning

Top: Forever 21
Denim: GAP
Belt: H&M
Bracelet: ILY COUTURE
Clutch: c/o Gigi New York

Do you ever wake up and think hey I'm just not going to brush my hair today. That's what I was rolling with today. It has been a crazy chaotic morning. H&M has some cute chunky boyfriend belts right now. Usually American Eagle is my go to spot for belts but H&M's are cheaper and a lighter brown. Good basic to add to your closet for all seasons.

Gigi New York giveaway ends tonight at midnight so be sure to enter if you haven't already!

Casual Dots

Romper: TJ Maxx (old)
Sweater: Old Navy
Fedora: F21 similar here
Sandals: Target
Clutch: H&M
Bracelet: ILY COUTURE & Stella and Dot
(officially my two favorite bracelets)
Watch: Michael Kors

I have had this chambray romper since my freshman year of college. It is still one of my favorite summer pieces. Don't you love those oldies but goodies?!

Still rolling off my polka dot obsession, wanted to show a more casual way to sport some dots. Old Navy has so many great polka dot pieces right now. A lot of their stuff has already sold out online but if you go into the stores they still have a really good selection (at least in Utah anyway). Most of their pieces look a lot J. Crew's but a third of the price.

If you want to do a more subtle dot outfit, use pops of colors to help break up the dotty pattern. I always love brights and neons, I think they make outfits pop, but any color looks great!

Have a great weekend everyone! Happy dotting :)

Case of The Dots.

Top: Thrifted $4
Pants: Forever 21
(These are the comfiest pants ever! It's like wearing sweats all day)
Shoes: Zara
Necklace: ILY COUTURE (NEW to our Fall Collection)
Watch: Michael Kors

I have been obsessed with polka dots. Big dots, small dots, medium dots, it's a full blown case of the dots. Mix sizes, colors, patterns, honestly anything goes with dots which makes it a super easy trend to wear. Who else is obsessing over this trend?

On a lighter note, I leave you with my balancing in heels skills.

HAPPY THIURSDAY!
