October through December is my favorite time of year. It's full of holiday traditions and my favorite clothing season - sweaters and layers! Below is a list of things we love to do in October.

11 THINGS TO DO IN OCTOBER:
1. Pumpkin Picking – October wouldn’t feel complete without a trip to the pumpkin patch. It is one my favorite traditions - something my family has been doing since I was little and we have continued with our kids. We end up going a couple times each year because I just love the tradition. Some pumpkin patches have corn mazes and hay rides, making it a fun family destination.

2. Hello Starbucks PSL – Treat yourself to a pumpkin spice latte! If you aren’t much of a coffee person, ask for a few shots of the pumpkin spice syrup to add to your drink of choice, like cocoa or chai tea.

3. Giving Back – October 16th is World Food Day, the culmination of World Hunger Action Month. Take a moment to collect some food or donate to a local food bank.

4. Fall Polish – Break out those darker hues for your next manicure. How pretty is this color?

5. Decorate Pumpkins – The hunt for the perfect pumpkin is only half the battle – decorate your pumpkin to your taste, whether it be grim or glam.  You can see my DIY Glitter Pumpkins from last Halloween here.

6. Rock a Deep Red Lip – Although there are great lipstick selections for every season, fall is the perfect time to rock the deep red lip. Don’t let the opportunity slip by without puckering up with a classic bordeaux hue. I just got this one in brandy.

7. Get spooked - Because no list would be complete without mentioning a good, old-fashioned haunted house. Some local amusement parks offer a kid-friendly version adopting a Halloween theme and tons of related activities during the month of October.  (Utah residents be sure to check out Frightmares at Lagoon.)

8. Fall Recipe – Bake something pumpkin. Bake anything pumpkin! (Sorry to those of you who don’t love pumpkin. I am realizing a pumpkin trend in this list :) My favorite recipe  to bake in October is pumpkin chocolate chip bread. For all of the fun and not so much work, I use this pumpkin bread kit and add an assortment of chocolate chips. It's really easy and one of my kiddos favorites. For more advanced pumpkin recipes, here are 25 pumpkin recipes to try.

9. Frightfest – Personally, I hate scary movies so even the thought of a horror movie freaks me out. For a healthy dose of horror, tune in to ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween. If you can handle something a little more intense, AMC’s Fearfest runs the last two weeks of October with all your classic horror flicks.

10.  Snuggle Up in a New Sweater – It's that time of year- sweater weather! Now is the time to snag the best new trends before your favorite sizes and styles are sold out. In case you missed it, here are nine of my favorite sweaters under $50.

11. Trick or Treat – You are never too old to dress up!

Some Fun Dates for your Calendar this Month:
October 14 - National Dessert Day (I'll celebrate to that!)
October 16 - Boss's Appreciation Day (your chance to brown nose your boss a little)
October 16 - World Food Day
October 18 - National Chocolate Cupcake Day
October 27 - National Beer Day
October 29 - National Cat Day (meow - snuggle up to those cute little felines)
October 31 - Happy Halloween!

Bloom Fresco Giveaway

OUTFIT DETAILS.
Oversized Sweater (size: medium - color: cream cloud) // Forever 21 Shorts (old similar here & here)
BECKAM.
Bloom Fresco Highchair // Bloom Seat Pad Harness Set // White Padded Snug (for infants under 6 months) //  Onesie // Apple Park Organic Stuffed Cow

Today I am excited to partner with bloom to bring you guys an amazing giveaway for one of my favorite baby products, the Fresco High Chair. If you saw my post last week I was talking about a few of my favorite baby items and this was at the top of my list. I saw this futuristic looking chair before I had Beckam and fell in love with the modern design.

The little pod the baby sits in can actually be reclined to lay all the way down, so it works as a basinet as well. It's been nice having something mobile in the kitchen so he can lay by me while I'm cooking or doing dishes. It can swivel 360 degrees so you can face it any direction and has little wheels on the bottom so it is easy to roll wherever you go. The kids love having it at the table so B can have his "own spot" during meal time.

Follow the Rafflecopter links below for your chance to win the Bloom Highchair and Harness set. Giveaway ends next Friday at midnight. Good Luck!

5 Months

Beckam is 5 months old today! Yesterday my husband and I were saying how he's already starting to look like such a little boy. Time is just flying by. I wanted to do an update of some of the baby products we have been using as of late (you can see my newborn baby essentials here).

1. Fresco Bloom Highchair - This was probably one of the things I was most excited about. I saw this on a few blogs before I had Beckam and was really excited to get one. I love the modern futuristic look. You can recline it all the way back so they are horizontal laying down or sit them up. If you start using it before they are 6 months you will want to get this little snug to support their neck and back. The kids loving having it at the table so B can sit next to them while we eat instead of having him on our laps.

2. Bumbo - Beckam loves this. We take it outside with us when we are sitting on the patio, or I set it on the bathroom counter next to me while I'm putting on my makeup. It's really lightweight so it's easy to move around the house wherever we need it. They have so many cute colors here.
(Bumbo // Patio Pillows - more sale ones here)

3. Basic White Onsies - If you follow me on Instagram you probably notice B wearing these in 80% of his pictures. When he was first born I got him ready in super cute outfits all the time, then at about 2 months I realized how fast he grows through his clothes and how easily they get ruined. Don't get me wrong I still love to dress him up, but honestly 4 days out of the week this is all he wears during the day.
(White Onsie // My Outfit: AG Distressed Jeans - on sale // Diaper Bag // Boots - old similar here)

4. Activity Mat - Another one of his favorites. We always joke he's the little running man. He kicks his legs like crazy when he's laying on his back. I loved the piano at the end of this one. Every time he kicks a key it makes a noise and there is little toys that hang down for him to play with. I keep this one in my room so when I need a few minutes to get ready or take a shower I just lay the mat on my bed or on the bathroom floor and he's entertained for about 15 minutes. Sometimes if I'm lucky I get 20-30, but usually it keeps his attention for more in the 15 minute range.

5. Diapers - I switch back and forth between the Honest diapers and these Pampers. We have tried multiple brands and these have had the best success with blowouts and avoiding leaks. The giraffe print on the Honest ones are my favorite! If I had a girl I would love these.
(Giraffe Diapers // Neon Orange Shorts - mom essential under $15)

6. Wipes - My favorite wipes so far have been Huggies. I like the little texture on them it wipes up the bum better and I don't have to use as many wipes. Surprisingly this is actually one of his favorite toys too lol. Because it crinkles so much when it moves he loves to play with the package.

7. Organic Farm Buddies - B started teething a couple weeks ago and I had a hard time finding some sort of toy to help alleviate the pain. I got one of these cute stuffed animals as a gift and I thought it would just make a cute stuffed animal, but the second I gave it to him he started gnawing on the legs and arms of the cow. It's the perfect width for him to get his gums on it and bite down. All their animals are 100% organic, super soft and lightweight so they are easy to carry around. It's become his favorite little toy, we take it everywhere with us.

8. Carrier - We have two different carriers. This one and this one. My husband overall prefers this one. I like it when we are hiking and stuff, but at home I prefer this one. I like it because it keeps B closer to my skin so it feels like I am still holding him. I also use this one going for basic walks or at my office when I need my hands and can't carry him. I have the mint and grey stripe one.

9. Body Wash - A couple months ago I did a post asking for your input on a good body wash. B was breaking out in all sorts of little rashes every time we gave him a bath. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and help! We tired a lot of them and ended up falling in love with this Honest Soap and this Noodle and Boo bar.  These have been the only two products that don't make him breakout. I know every babies skin is different, but those have worked best for us.

Also a lot of you have been asking for tips on traveling with infants. I love the idea! I'm going to put together a post in the next couple weeks and share a few things I've learned from trial and error :)

Thanks so much for reading!

I like to pretend I'm on time places, but 90% of the time I'm late, "fashionably late". It's something I really need to work on, it drives my husband crazy. Having a baby has only made it worse. In my head I think it only takes five minutes to get Beckam dressed, load the diaper bag, and buckle him in the car, and fifteen minutes later we are still not even out of the house. Weekends are the days I don't feel guilty if I dilly dally and take my sweet time. They are the relaxed days we are rarely on a schedule and I can kick back in a oversized tee and comfy shorts and not worry about being on time.

Hope you all had a great Fourth of July! Today I am excited to share my first home post. One of my favorite places to relax at our home is the patio. It has a great view overlooking the city. A couple weeks ago I decided to invest the time into redoing the space so it became a more enjoyable place to relax. I wanted it to feel bright and fresh so I went with aqua tones paired with neon green and purple accents for contrast. I am really excited how it turned out, now I just need to work on keeping the plants alive (I swear all the plants I have die, I definitely do not have a green thumb!).

World Market is having a big Summer sale right now. The aqua outdoor mat I got is now only $13, and most of the outdoor throw pillows are 50% off.
