Happy Friday everyone! This week has been so busy! Wednesday was Mara (my step daughter's) birthday and today is mine. We have been running around getting ready for her party tonight. It's so much more exciting getting ready for kids birthdays then your own :)

I had crazy cramps yesterday and I thought I was going into labor.  I was like crap I can't have three birthdays in a row (Mara, babies, and mine) Thankfully he must have just been moving in a weird position or something and after a couple hours it went away.

I have had quite a few emails lately (I love your emails!) asking about my pregnancy wardrobe. I would say hands down an absolute must is maternity jeans. I have a couple different brands but these Paige ones are so unique because the bands are on the side. Most pregnancy jeans have a large band that goes over your stomach so you don't have a button anymore. These stretch on the side so you still have a button and can tuck in your shirts (you all know I love the half tucked in look :). Needless to say these baggy boyfriend jeans have been on repeat.

I love Valentine's Day! Really any holiday I enjoy because it is an excuse to coordinate my outfits in the days and weeks leading up to it. I love this cute lace bow garter and this scalloped lace bralette from Shopbop, but mostly I'm dying over this red lace dress.

Sheer Sunlight

Cody and I went to California last weekend for a little getaway before the baby (only 9 more weeks!). We could not have asked for better weather. It was 85-92 degrees the whole time. It was so nice wearing shorts and tanks again and not being freezing. It gave me Spring fever! 

This was my look for dinner one of the nights we drove up to Santa Monica. I've been anxiously waiting to wear this chiffon kimono. Cody asked why I was putting on a nightgown to go out to eat lol. I love his random comments about my outfits, they always give me a good laugh :)

I totally wore this sweater last week, but it is one of the few items that still covers my belly :) Pretty much all these pieces are last season or older, except for this mini tote, which is my new favorite bag. I am usually lugging around my huge Celine (and don't get me wrong she still has my heart) but I accumulate so much random stuff I needed to downsize and simplify, so I thought this was the perfect transition bag for a lighter load with a similar shape.

Being pregnant has taught me to have a more functional wardrobe. I can't run errands in heels like I used too. I still can't give them up (heels have always been my favorite accessory to an outfit) so I have started bringing tennis shoes with me to switch into after work. This is what I picture the NYC life to be, and for a few seconds I feel like a big city girl as I switch out my shoes :)

Travel Outfit

Cody and I are getting ready to take a mini getaway for our "baby moon". I could not be more excited for warmer weather. It's been refreshing shopping for Spring pieces instead of bulky sweaters. When I'm traveling I like to have layers. I am always freezing on the airplane but hot walking through the airport so I like to bring a cardigan or hoodie to layer up.

Stripes and sequins are two of my favorite things. I'll be honest dressing a belly can get a little frustrating (only about 10% of the things in my closet fit right now) I was needing a girly day with a little sass and this dress brought that glam feeling I needed. Just because your pregnant doesn't mean you can't have a little sparkle :)

Last week we went up to Montana for a couple days to visit my family. My cousin and step mom put together the sweetest shower. I sometimes forget how real this whole pregnancy thing is. It's gone by so so fast I can't believe I only have 11 more weeks to go!

In the hunt for clothes while being pregnant I've found body-con dresses work really well. This is not a maternity dress but because of the high quality fabric and ruching it gives in the places I need it to to fit the bump :) Thankfully it makes it more functional because I will still be able to wear it after I have the little man. Working it Out

Seriously how cute is Alessandra Ambrosio?! I saw this on Pinterest and immediately started hunting for a cute leopard sports bra. Tada found this one (and on sale!) I had to get it.  

With the new year brings New Year's resolutions. I think probably the most common one is getting into shape, working out, or eating healthy. Honestly I am not much of a gym rat, I like to go once in awhile but more so l like doing active things: biking, walking, playing basketball, etc. It's gotten harder staying active the further along I am. Let's just say a running pregnant girl looks pretty awkward (maybe you guys pull it off more gracefully) Needless to say I have started spending more and more days in work out clothes and less dressing up. It seems like the athletic clothes are cuter than half the maternity ones out there. Below are a few items I have been eyeing to add to my closet :)
