Today's post was supposed to be the second half on investment pieces (if you missed it you can read part one on designer handbags here) but we had a crazy storm last night so I wasn't able to shoot the outfits. Stay tuned later this week I will be sharing my tips on purchasing designer shoes.

Today's look is about one of my favorite staples, graphic tees. Graphic T-shirts are a versatile (and comfortable!) must for anyone's closet. Typically it is the first thing we grab for on a lounge day, but a graphic tee works just as well paired with a structured blazer and heels. I like incorporating this comfortable tee into a sophisticated look because the graphic element adds interest to an otherwise simple ensemble. If you are worried a graphic t-shirt isn't your style, focus on the pieces you style with it. Dressier elements like a blazer, heels, and classic accessories make this look more accessible for adults. I've been eyeing jumpsuits the last couple months and been anxious to try one. I saw this pale pink one with the sheer shoulders and knew it was the perfect one for my first time trying the trend. They are surprisingly more comfortable and versatile than I anticipated. After work I kicked off my heels and paired it with a tailored blazer and my gladiator sandals to give it a more laid back look for a family dinner. I'm dying over this perfectly tailored white lace one from Neiman Marcus but sadly out of my price range. Isn't it gorgeous? Below are a few more favorites in a more affordable price range:

Perfecting Your Distressed Denim

I'm always a sucker for a good pair of distressed denim. It's always the first pieces I'm drawn to when I look for jeans. I love the fit of these boyfriend jeans (under $30) because they slim down through the legs so they are not too oversized, and they are the perfect light wash. Seems like post baby I have been gravitating towards oversized pieces that are comfortable as a busy mom on the go.

I wanted to share a couple tips I've found for perfecting my distressed denim. The first thing I always do is over rip the slits. Especially at the knees, pull the rip all the way to the side seems. This helps give them that worn in look and makes it more comfortable for your knees so there is not stress against the threads. The second thing I've found is cuffing the bottom with a thin roll. Typically the inside of the denim is a different color so the roll will create contrast against the regular wash on the outside. If the jeans are oversized I try to create a thin sleek roll to offset the baggy style. This is key if you are wearing heels, the polished roll helps tie in the heels.

This "leopard is the new black" tee was one of my favorite purchases last week in Vegas. I also picked up this pink one and this super soft one. Graphic tees are just those easy pieces you can style with anything.

I can't believe how fast Beckam is growing and changing. The last couple weeks he's started touching everything and now when Cody and I hold him he's always touching our cheeks and mouth observing everything we do.

This week I was in Vegas and Zara is always one of my first stops if I have time to hit up the mall. They have so many great pieces right now at such good price points. I picked up these grey ankle boots for under $80, and this cute graphic tee for under $16. They were sold out of the stripe tee in my size so I'm definitely going to be ordering that and this pink bucket bag. I'm hoping we get Zara in Utah soon! Hope you all are having a great week!

PUPPY PROBLEMS

Hope you all are having a great weekend! I'm throwing out a weekend post because I forgot to publish this one yesterday. 

Pregnant Brain!

So last Christmas Cody bought me this grey boyfriend sweater and it was one of my favorite oversized knits. I love when he picks clothes out for me, they always end up being my favorite items. Anyways, about a week and half ago Mio got snipped and has been stuck wearing one of those cones so he doesn't lick his stitches. He has been a complete hellion! He either A- mopes around the house or B-gets into things he knows he's not supposed to. So Monday night I'm sitting blogging on the couch and I notice he's laying really weird and his stomach is all bloated. Immediately I knew he ate something! I went into my room and found my favorite sweater now sleeveless with only half the body left. No pieces to be found anywhere, he literally ate it! Poor little guy was hurting until he was able to "digest" it out.  

This is my first puppy, so I never knew dogs literally ate clothes or shoes, I always thought that was just a joke!

A couple days ago I came home to some beautiful flowers and a sweet card from my hubby. I thought hey what a "great just" because surprise. Still smiling from the thoughtful surprise, I walked into the bedroom and found this little nugget curled up asleep on my bed. I screamed, which then turned into tears of joy. Literally I cried. {in case you don't know me I cry a lot, not like sad crying, like when I get really happy I cry. lol} My first puppy!
